Although she did bits in 'Bluff Master' she is now taking up a full fledge debut of singing with the movie Zanjeer (remake). The latest news is that the actress has preparing for singing songs for the movie and this will be released shortly in the coming months.
The remake of Zanjeer (1993) will see quite a new look for the characters and this is the reason why the director wanted to have a fresh voice and a fresh set of lyrics to match the new situation that they are to plot.
The earlier buzz was that Priyanka would record the hit number 'Bana ke kyun bigada re' that was shot on Jaya Bachchan in the original Zanjeer.
However, since the song she records for the new Zanjeer will officially mark her debut as a playback singer, both the actress as well as Apoorva wanted a fresh number.
The filmmaker has decided to come up with fresh lyrics in sync with the mood of the film.
This is not all, the actress is also planning to sing for the sequel of Krrish 3 which is currently progressing on schedule. Priyanka Chopra has been quite serious about her singing career and she has also expressed her desire to portray it further, as for the twitter fans, you should have already noted the profile change on Priyanka's about page, which says "'actor, singer (new addition he he), walkin to my own music (sic)".
The actresses singing talent was portrayed on the SRK tour 'Temptations 2004' where she had sang few of the numbers from 'Mujse Shaadi Karogi' since then she has been flooded with offers from leading companies but it is said that she is selective.
Zanjeer, produced by Prakash Mehra's son Amit, introduces Telugu superstar Chiranjeevi's son Ram Charan Teja to Bollywood.
The budding actor reprises Amitabh Bachchan's iconic angry young man in the remake. Priyanka plays the role essayed by Jaya in the original.
About 40 per cent of the film's shooting is complete and Priyanka starts filming her portions in September.
The actress will also be seen in an all new avatar in the upcoming film Barfi! opposite Ranbir Kapoor.
Priyanka's POP Album to be released soon?
Priyanka who has been trained in western music is all set to release her single album. The news has it that she has also penned few of her songs and is also preparing to record them soon. Last year, Priyanka signed a recording deal with Universal Music and Desi Hits for her yetuntitled pop album.
According to sources, Priyanka was approached by Apoorva to sing in his film because he liked her voice quality.
'Priyanka is currently under contract with the producers of her international album to finish it first before she can go on to recording the song for Zanjeer,' a source said.
