Valadoo Relaunch

Valadoo, an Indonesian online travel service, had a re-launch event last night following the investment made by travel-meta search website Wego a couple of months ago. The beta redesigned site is here. At the event, Valadoo also announced its plan to create a series of web-based travel shows together with local humor site MalesBanget.com to promote Indonesian destinations. You can see the teaser trailer video below.

Valadoo.com also revealed some stats about its progress so far: website traffic has increased nearly 50 percent in the first six months of this year, and for the second quarter there were more than 160,000 visitors. Jaka Wiradisuria commented in the announcement about the site's growth:

We have even had a more than 300 percent increase in order inquiries in the second quarter, and 500 percent growth in sales in the past three months.

The company believes that its main strength lies in its insider access to a great selection of Indonesia's popular destinations. The main destination portfolio on Valadoo consists of popular and trending holiday spots such as Bali, Lombok, Karimunjawa, Derawan island, and Raja Ampat. The startup teams claims to have covered 27 of Indonesia's 33 provinces so far.

The online travel startup scene is getting hotter and hotter in Indonesia. Being more social – such as with this new web series – could be a great differentiator. The teaser looks fun and I look forward to watching the series:
