It's only a week before the most popular celebrities online will be awarded at the 2012 Yahoo! OMG! Philippines Awards on Friday, July 6 at the SM Mall of Asia Arena.
Stars from GMA Network compete in 20 categories in this year's Yahoo! OMG! Awards, which is based on the most-searched celebrities based on the trending metric in the Yahoo! Philippines Search Engine.
Kapuso royalty Dingdong Dantes is nominated in the Actor of the Year category, while his girlfriend, primetime superstar Marian Rivera and Makapiling Kang Muli lead actress Carla Abellana are both nominated in the Actress of the Year category.
Marian Rivera and Sam Pinto are the nominees in the Celebrity of the Year category, while Sen. Ramon "Bong" Revilla, Jr. is a nominee in the Celebrity with Major Impact category.
Dingdong and Marian are also nominated for the "IT Couple of the Year."
Meanwhile, the hugely-followed "JuliElmo" love team of Elmo Magalona and Julie Ann San Jose and the "JaBea" love team of Jake Vargas and Bea Binene are both nominated in the Love Team of the Year category.
Elmo and Julie Ann, the lead cast of the newest Sunday afternoon show Together Forever, are also nominated for the Male and Female Singer of the Year.
Stars are not the only ones to be awarded at the Yahoo! OMG! Awards. Fan clubs are also contenders. From the Kapuso Network, the DongYan (Dingdong-Marian) and JulieElmo (Julie Anne-Elmo) fan clubs are nominated in the Fans Club of the Year category.
One True Love lead star Alden Richards is nominated for Breakthrough Actor of the Year, while Rhian Ramos and Lovi Poe are both nominated in the Breakthrough Actress of the Year category.
Elmo Magalona and Rocco Nacino are both nominated in the Most Promising Actor category, while Bella Padilla and Bea Binene are nominated in the Most Promising Actress award category.
Singer-songwriter and comedian Ogie Alcasid is nominated in the Comedian of the Year category along with other kapuso comic masters Vic Sotto, Jose Manalo and Wally Bayola.
Solenn Heussaff and Kylie Padilla are both nominated in the Best Female Newcomer category.
Meanwhile, Pauleen Luna and Pia Guanio are nominated in the Favorite Female TV Host category, while Vic Sotto is nominated in the Favorite Male TV Host category.
Luna Blanca lead Mona Lousie Rey, who was first known via the hit family primetime drama Munting Heredera, contends for the Child Star of the Year award.
GMA's flagship FM radio station Barangay LS 97.1 is nominated as Best FM Radio Station, while the 2011 comedy-drama film Temptation Island is also nominated in the Movie of the Year category.
