There is a petition at thomascook.com to get the Government to give us one The UK gets the lowest number of Bank Holidays in Europe at just 8. Most countries in Europe get 12 & parts of Spain get 16. Even Australians get a Bank Holiday to celebrate OUR Queen's birthday, but we don't. This is not fair. Join the petition to get the Government to grant us an extra day… Best answer: Answer by Blossom yes but i suspect after all the bad press Thomas Cook has had this year, that it's a ploy to get them back into the public eye and viewed in a positive light. we weren't born yesterday, not that I object to an extra bank holiday of course.
