Motorola neck tattoo could detect when you're not being honest ...

Tattoos tell a story, but what if you could tell your tattoo a story? If Motorola has their way, you'll be able to talk to your tattoo, and it will listen. It could also react to your whims, and even tell when you're being less than honest.

new patent suggests Motorola has a few tricks up their sleeves, including a semi-permanent tattoo that will sit on your neck, allowing you to speak commands in even the noisiest of environments. This will, of course, tether to your smartphone or wireless host device, but could add a new depth to what amounts to wearable technology.

The tattoo will also use something Motorola is calling a "galvanic skin response detector" to gauge your level of honesty. Essentially, Motorola believes that your skin tenses up or gives a different "vibe" when you're lying. What the planned use, if there is one, isn't know — but we see that being used to little effect, much like a traditional lie detector test.

Motorola has long been toying with the idea of tattoos or subcutaneous technology, and this is the latest in a line of their fascination. We're not sure if it is — or ever will be — ready for prime time, but it's very interesting technology that could find its way into other devices or utilities.
