The internet is a rich source of content; you can read about practically anything. Politics, world news, fashion, movies, or technology. The only problem is, there's so much to read. You can now find hundreds of stories on every topic there is with people covering a single news item from several different perspectives. If you try and stay up to date with even a handful of topics, you will find yourself buried under news. Only the best of news items are read thoroughly and that's why there is probably a place for a app like Circa on your iPhone.
Circa gathers news and shortens it for you; instead of reading through or even skimming long articles and news items, the app gives you trending stories to read. Each story is shortened to a few points so that you know what you have to read and aren't stuck skimming long paragraphs. You can choose to create an account or use the app without it. An account allows you to follow stories and the app will present you with any developments on the story.
The interface is excellent and focuses on making text readable. As you 'scroll' through the highlights of a story, you can see how many of them you've read. To view stories that you're following, click the button at the top left. To start following a story, open it and click the plus sign at the top right. You can share a story via the share icon next to it. There does not appear to be any way of narrowing the stories down by topic or genre.
