CRYSTAL TOWNSHIP – Minor damage was done to a Crystal home this morning after lightening struck a water line.
The Crystal Township Fire Department was dispatched to Smith Street near Crystal Lake for a structure fire at 4:37 a.m.
"We think it was lightening," said Fire Chief Lonny Fitzpatrick.
Fitzpatrick believes lightening struck a water line and caught some duct work on fire, but very little damage was done to the house.
"We got there quick enough," said Fitzpatrick, noting some laminate damage was sustained.
Firefighters also checked under the house to make sure there was not an extension of the fire. No one was hurt in the fire.
The Crystal Township Fire Department was on scene for about a half hour.
