Stock Market Update November 2 - Business Insider Nov 2nd 2012, 12:30 Spencer Platt / Getty Images The October jobs report is out and the markets are moving. Click here for updates > Dow futures intstantly jumped by 30 points.  S&P futures jumped 5 points. Ahead of the report, markets weren't doing much. Dow futures were down 4 points, S&P futures down 0.2 point, Nasdaq futures up 0.25 point. According to the BLS, the US companies added 171k nonfarm payrolls in October, which was much higher than the 125k expected by economists. The unemployment rate ticked up to 7.9 percent.
